Nepal, March 31 -- The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) submitted a memorandum to the government from across the country on Monday, protesting the death of journalist Suresh Rajak and orchestrated attacks on the media.

The FNJ demanded action against those responsible for Rajak's murder and immediate relief for his family. During a meeting in Kathmandu, the central committee of FNJ handed over a memorandum to Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, expressing concern over the planned attacks during a pro-monarchy demonstration last Friday.

Provincial committees submitted memorandums to provincial home ministers, while district branches handed them over to Chief District Officers, calling for assurance of press freedom.
