KANCHANPUR, Sept. 1 -- Continuous rainfall since Sunday night has inundated 45 houses in Kanchanpur district.
According to DSP Sagar Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office, floodwaters from the Jogbudha River submerged 25 houses in Rampure and Jarga Tol of Dodhara Chandani Municipality-8. Similarly, 15 houses in Patarakhalla of Dodhara Chandani-3 and five houses in Bhujela of Bhimdatta Municipality-11 were also inundated.
"Seventy residents of Dodhara Chandani displaced by the flood have been relocated to safer areas," DSP Bohara said. Families and livestock have been moved to secure locations, while 55 people from Patarakhalla are currently taking shelter at Jamuna Primary School along with their belongings and animals.
