Nepal, July 22 -- Police have arrested a man accused of killing his newborn child and abandoning the body near a highway in Pokhara.

After committing the crime on September 29, the man had been hiding. He was caught on Sunday when he brought his pregnant wife to the hospital for delivery.

According to the District Police Office (DPO), Kaski, the body of a newborn was discovered on the side of the Prithvi Highway in Pokhara-14, wrapped in a red and pink blanket and placed inside a zebra-print bag.

Postmortem results showed that the baby died due to injuries to the head and neck, leading police to register a homicide case and begin investigation.
