Nepal, Sept. 26 -- The government has decided not to provide financial assistance to families of prisoners and juvenile detainees who died while attempting to escape from prison during the Gen-Z protests.
Although the Cabinet had announced that those killed in the September 8-9 demonstrations would be declared martyrs and their families given relief, the new classification excludes escapees and juveniles.

Earlier, the Cabinet had agreed to provide Rs 1 million as compensation and an additional Rs 500,000 for funeral, food, and transportation costs - totaling Rs 1.5 million per family - to those who lost relatives in the protests.
