Nepal, May 1 -- The government has appointed former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari as a member of the Governor Recommendation Committee formed to fill the vacant position of the central bank's chief. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.

Earlier, on March 23, a committee was formed under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel to recommend a new governor.
