Nepal, July 22 -- An elderly woman died after being hit by a passenger bus in Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur.

The victim has been identified as 71-year-old Subarnakeshari Shrestha of Mangalachhe, Ward 4 of Bhaktapur Municipality, who was currently residing in Bhaktapur Adarsha.

The accident occurred at Bhulanchhe Chowk in Suryabinayak when a Mayur Yatayat bus (Ba 5 Kha 4782) en route from Kathmandu to Banepa struck her while she was crossing the road. She sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Bhaktapur Hospital, where she died during treatment, according to Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur.
