Kathmandu, Dec. 9 -- The Election Commission (EC) has canceled the registration of a political party that failed to pay the fine imposed for not submitting financial statements on time, making it ineligible to contest the upcoming elections.

The EC had received applications for party registration for the House of Representatives election by November 30 with a total of 120 parties submitting their requests.
