KATHMANDU, Nov. 18 -- The Kathmandu District Administration Office has granted permission to keep medical entrepreneur and activist Durga Prasai in police custody for four days to investigate charges related to disturbing public order.

Prasai was taken to the District Government Attorney's Office and then to the DAO, Kathmandu on Tuesday for a remand hearing. During the process, he told officials that he had not been informed about the specific charges under which he was arrested.

Supporters of Prasai staged protests outside the administration office, chanting slogans against his arrest.
