KATHMANDU, Nov. 2 -- Printing of driving licenses is set to resume from Monday, according to the Department of Transport Management (DoTM). The Security Printing Center agreed to restart the process following a decision reached last Wednesday.
License printing had been halted after the Gen-Z movement disrupted operations and a number of printed licenses were destroyed in a fire.
The Security Printing Center will print around 500 licenses per day initially. The new licenses will come in an updated format with a QR code, replacing the embedded chip used in previous versions, informed Gopal Raj Timilsina, Undersecretary at the Security Printing Center.
