Nepal, Aug. 31 -- Senior orthopedic surgeon and medical education reform activist Dr Govinda KC has launched a three-day satyagraha at Geta Medical College in Dhangadhi, protesting the government's recent decisions regarding medical education.
Announcing his campaign during a press conference on Saturday, Dr KC said the government's move to increase seats in private medical colleges would only benefit political leaders and medical mafias while deteriorating the quality of education. "When the quality of education declines, health services suffer. That means playing with the health of ordinary Nepalis," he said.
