KATHMANDU, Oct. 3 -- The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has announced the domestic airfares for flights within the country.

The move aims to minimize the possibility of excessively high fares and limited ticket availability during peak travel periods such as Dashain, Tihar and Chhath. The authority has released the maximum fare limits for various domestic routes.

CAAN has instructed airlines and concerned stakeholders not to charge passengers more than the government-approved maximum fare. A warning has also been issued that violators will face action.

According to the published list, the highest fare is for the Kathmandu-Dhangadhi route at Rs 17,579, while the lowest fare is for Kathmandu-Simara at Rs 3,978.
