Nepal, May 8 -- Devotees observe a fast every year on Baisakh Shukla Ekadashi to seek liberation from suffering and sins.

Known as Mohini Ekadashi, this day offers freedom from the illusion of grief and sin, as described in various Puranas. Lord Krishna explained the significance of this Ekadashi to Yudhishthira, according to religious scriptures, said Dr Devmani Bhattarai, a member of the Nepal Calendar Determination Committee and expert in religious texts.
