KATHMANDU, Feb. 17 -- Lawmaker Sumana Shrestha of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has objected to Speaker Devraj Ghimire not allocating her time to raise the issue of the death of Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal and oppression on other Nepali students at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Odisha, India.

MP Shrestha boycotted the parliament session after Speaker Ghimire refused to grant her permission despite repeated requests.

As soon as the parliament session began, MP Shrestha requested time from the Speaker to speak during an emergency. However, Speaker Ghimire did not permit Shrestha the opportunity to speak, stating that the emergency time had expired after allowing other MPs to speak.
