Nepal, Aug. 28 -- Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday plunged 38.10 points to close at 2,781.10 points.

The market opened at 2,819.10 points, initially inclined to the day's high at 2,824.78 points in the first 20 minutes. For the next one hour, the index remained almost stable, while the market went downhill in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Eleven out of the 13 groups were the losers. As life insurance declined by the largest of 219.96 points, a total of four groups lost three-digit points in their market values. Non-life insurance and mutual funds grew by 2.44 points and 0.02 points, respectively.
