KATHMANDU, Dec. 14 -- The Central Committee Meeting of the CPN-UML began at Bhrikutimandap in the capital on Sunday.

The meeting, convened ahead of the closed-door session of the party's 11th General Convention, is the final Central Committee gathering before the convention formally moves into its decisive phase.

According to party sources, discussions will focus on amendments to the party statute, the current political situation, and the agenda and procedures for the closed session.

The general convention, inaugurated on Saturday at Sallahghari in Bhaktapur, will hold its closed-door deliberations at Bhrikutimandap.
