Kathmandu, Dec. 11 -- A committee formed to investigate the incident of suicide by a father and his daughter in Bardiya has begun an on-site study. Anju Tharu, 22, of Badhaiyatal rural municipality-4, killed herself after the local body and administration allegedly discriminated against her in granting citizenship. After four days of Anju's death, her father, Kanchha Tharu, 61, also committed suicide.

A team under the leadership of Committee coordinator Suresh Panthi reached the incident site-Badhaiyatal -4 on Wednesday and conducted a discussion. With the help of the probe committee, the birth of Anita, the seven-year-old daughter of Anju, and the death of Anju were registered today.
