CHITWAN, July 1 -- Locals of Dibyanagar of Chitwan have embraced farm mechanization to increase productivity.

Farmers of Dibyanagar in Bharatpur Metropolitan City Ward 26 used modern equipment to transplant paddy saplings in Brihaspati Paddy Pocket Area this season. The government has declared 22.5 bigha (3.61 hectares) of land in Divyapur as pocket area for paddy.

Mitra Raj Dawadi, a farmer and a member at National Seed Board, told Republica that they are planning to use rice transplanter to transplant paddy saplings in three bigha (0.48 hectare) this year.
