BAITADI, Oct. 27 -- The recent floods and landslides caused by unseasonal rain have damaged over 50 drinking water projects in Baitadi district. The damage to the drinking water systems has raised further problems for the local residents of the district.

There has been an acute shortage of drinking water in the district's headquarters for the past nine days after the main source of the water was hit by a landslide.

According to Krishna Bahadur Bagoti, chief of Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Office, a survey concluded that drinking water projects were heavily damaged in Shivanath Rural Municipality, Sigas Rural Municipality and Dogdakedar Rural Municipality.
