TAPLEJUNG, July 4 -- The District Administration Office (DAO) of Taplejung has issued a public alert urging residents to remain cautious and vigilant in light of potential monsoon-related disasters.
Assistant Chief District Officer and disaster focal person for the district Sandipa Khadka, through an official notice, warned that Taplejung's steep terrain poses high risk during the monsoon, particularly from floods and landslides.
The notice specifically mentions high-alert areas near rivers like Tamor, Kabeli, and Mewakhola, which are prone to sudden flooding. Locals living in riverside settlements have been advised to stay extra cautious throughout the rainy season.
