Nepal, Jan. 31 -- From mid-July (Shrawan) to mid-January (Poush), a total of 379,212 taxpayers were registered nationwide. Of them, 55,242 were registered under business PAN, 304,890 under individual PAN, 871 under W-PAN, 13,257 under VAT, and 4,952 under excise duty.

Nearly 380,000 new taxpayers were added in the first six months of the current Fiscal Year (FY), according to data released by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.

With the latest additions, the total number of PAN-registered taxpayers has reached 7,360,353, while 364,992 taxpayers are registered under VAT and 129,949 under excise duty.
