KATHMANDU, Jan. 27 -- A total of 90,000 metric tons of wheat will be imported from India for commercial purposes. Applications for this import have been opened. The wheat will be imported under the quota allocated by the Indian government for firms and companies in Nepal.
The Department of Commerce, Supplies, and Consumer Protection has issued a notice on Monday saying that applications for import are open. The notice mentions that firms or companies interested in importing wheat should submit an application to the department within seven days, specifying the quantity of wheat, ranging from a minimum of 100 metric tons to a maximum of 10,000 metric tons.
