Nepal, Sept. 24 -- A total of 91 detainees who escaped from the custody of the Area Police Offices in Birtamod, Damak and Jhiljhile are still missing.
Only one of the 92 detainees who were in police custody has returned since they escaped following the vandalism and arson that took place in the wake of Gen-Z protests across the country. The search for the remaining others is underway, said Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Jhapa.

Police have stated that 51 detainees from the Anarmani Area Police Office in Birtamod, 36 from Damak and five from Jhiljhile offices escaped during the Gen-Z movement.
