Nepal, April 10 -- Bilateral trade between Nepal and Bangladesh will remain unaffected through Indian territory even as India recently withdrew the transshipment facility it had been providing to Bangladesh, according to India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
"Bangladesh exports to Nepal and Bhutan transiting through the Indian territory will remain unaffected" stated an MEA press release.
The Indian withdrawal of transshipment facility granted to Bangladesh came into force on Tuesday, allegedly following remarks made by Bangladesh's President Mohammed Yunus regarding India's northeastern states. The decision aims to reduce congestion and logistical delays at Indian ports and airports, according to an MEA release.
