Nigeria, Feb. 16 -- The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), on Monday, announced the release of the results for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates 2020 (second series).

According to the head of the council in Nigeria, Patrick Areghan, only 39.82 per cent made credits in five subjects (including Mathematics and English).

However, he said the result is an improvement compared to the performance of candidates in the last two years.

"Twenty Four Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety One (24,491) candidates representing 39.82% obtained credit and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
