Nigeria, Nov. 26 -- A 61-year-old Turkish fugitive, Acar Huseyin, has been repatriated from Nigeria back to Turkey to serve his prison sentence.
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) disclosed on Wednesday that Mr Huseyin was convicted of fraud at the Istanbul Anadolu High Criminal Court earlier this year.
He had been sentenced to 14 years, 8 months, and 10 days in prison by the court, but fled the country to avoid serving his sentence.
"The Nigeria Police Force, through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, has successfully repatriated a 61-year-old Turkish national, Acar Huseyin, to the Republic of Turkey to face his outstanding prison sentence.
