Nigeria, Feb. 13 -- Four years ago, 11 February 2021, Lateef Kayode Jakande (alia Babakekere) breathed his last at the age of 91. LKJ, as he was popularly referred to was regarded as the people's governor or rather the action governor. He was the governor of Lagos State between 1979 and 1983.
In the perception of many of his admirers, it was as if Jakande spent a decade or more in office as governor. Alhough he later became a federal minister but his most impactful and decisive years were those he spent as the governor of Lagos state.
