Nigeria, Oct. 16 -- The Nigerian government has announced that a recent presidential pardon and clemency granted to some convicted people is not final.

The Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, announced this on Thursday in a statement.

PREMIUM TIMES reported the pardons and clemency granted to over 100 people including dozens convicted for drug-related offences.

The pardon for drug offenders has elicited wide condemnation from Nigerians, a fact acknowledged by Mr Fagbemi in his statement.
