Nigeria, Nov. 26 -- President Bola Tinubu has declared a security emergency across Nigeria as the country continues to witness attacks by gunmen in various areas.
The Nigerian leader also asked the police and the army to commence massive recruitment of more personnel. He also pledged to support states that have set up their own security networks while urging the National Assembly to amend the country's laws to allow for state policing.
Mr Tinubu said this in a statement he signed and which was shared by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on social media.
