Nigeria, Dec. 20 -- The Niger State Police Command said one officer killed himself amid an investigation into missing ammunition.
The officer, Isah Abdullahi, a deputy superintendent of police, was attached to the 12 Police Mobile Force (PMF) unit in Minna, the state capital.
Wasiu Abiodun, the command's spokesperson, in a statement on Friday, said Mr Isah was arrested on 15 December for "suspected involvement in illegal dealings of ammunition."
A day after his arrest, Mr Abiodun said the deceased was taken to his office for a routine arms audit, but killed himself in the process.
