Nigeria, Sept. 29 -- The Nigerian government has refuted allegations by some international news platforms and online influencers that terrorists operating in the country are engaged in a systematic genocide against Christians.

It said such claims are false, baseless, despicable, and divisive.

This is contained in a statement by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Sunday in Abuja.

There have been reports in some international media platforms suggesting Christians in Nigeria are the targets of attacks by terrorists, most of whom are Muslims.
