Nigeria, Jan. 10 -- The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of two Nigerians killed in separate violent incidents in the United Kingdom and Canada within the first week of the year.
Describing the deaths as distressing and unacceptable, NiDCOM, in a statement issued on Friday, called for a thorough investigation into the deaths of the Nigerians.
One of the victims, identified as John Temitope Onetufo, a 23-year-old, was fatally stabbed on New Year's Eve in the Lewisham area of London.
The other, residing in Canada, Osemwengie Irorere, aged 46, was shot and killed at the Yorkdale GO Bus Terminal in Toronto last Sunday.
