Nigeria, July 4 -- The world of football is still in shock and mourning following the sudden and tragic death of Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota, 28, and his younger brother, Andre Silva, 25, in a fatal car crash on Thursday.
Jota, a beloved and dynamic attacker, had just helped Liverpool clinch the Premier League title in the 2024-25 season and was fresh off an emotional win with Portugal over rivals Spain in a dramatic penalty shootout during his final international appearance in June.
His brother, Andre Silva, was also a professional footballer who played in Portugal for Gondomar S.C. and F.C. Penafiel.
