Nigeria, Nov. 24 -- President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered a 'scrupulous investigation' of the murder of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women leader in Kogi State.

PREMIUM TIMES reported the murder of Salome Abuh, 60, the PDP women leader of Ochadamu Ward in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

She was sleeping in her home when political thugs, believed to be of the All Progressives Congress (APC) set the building alight shortly before sunset last Monday, Kogi police spokesperson, William Aya, told PREMIUM TIMES.

The police believe her murder was a reprisal attack.

Her murder two days after the violence-ridden Kogi governorship election increased the fatalities from the election.
