Nigeria, March 11 -- Many Nigerians were killed in electoral violence during Saturday's governorship and state house of assembly elections.

The process was also fraught with widespread irregularities including ballot snatching, kidnapping and harassment of both voters and electoral officials.

These were the main details of a post-election security assessment report carried out by the Centre for Law Enforcement and Education, (CLEEN) foundation.

CLEEN, alongside its partners including Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) said it tracked security-related developments across the country through its 1,600 observers who were deployed in the 774 local governments in the country.
