Nigeria, July 28 -- President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on all 24 members of the Super Falcons team that won the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The players were also each given $100,000 and a brand-new three-bedroom apartment as part of a grand reception hosted on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This recognition comes two days after the Super Falcons staged a stunning comeback to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 in the final, securing Nigeria's record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
