Nigeria, June 23 -- One day after the US attacked three nuclear sites in Iran, officially involving itself in the Israel-Iran war, Tehran has vowed to punish its 'Zionist enemy.'

In his first official statement since the attack, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, on Monday described the attack as a mistake and a "big crime."

"The Zionist enemy has made a big mistake, committed a big crime; it must be punished and it is being punished; it is being punished right now," he said.

On the tenth day into Israel's war with Iran, US President Donald Trump announced a "very successful attack" targeting Iran's nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
