Nigeria, Feb. 19 -- The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed the rearrest of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is in its custody, hours after he was released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday.

"Malam Nasiru El-Rufai is in the custody of the Commission in connection with ongoing investigations," ICPC spokesperson John Odey wrote in a message shared on a journalist's Whatsapp group Wednesday night.

Mr El-Rufai was detained by the EFCC on Monday over corruption allegations.
