Nigeria, Dec. 5 -- A bomb explosion in Banki, a town in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, has reportedly killed at least four people.

Local media reported that the incident occurred on Friday.

According to the report, the victims, all scavengers, brought the explosive device into the town after mistaking it for metal scrap.

The device exploded while they were trying to unbundle it.

Authorities are yet to speak about the incident.

When contacted, Nanum Keneath, police spokesperson in Borno, did not respond to calls and a message.
