FOR THE RECORDS: What Fashola actually said about the state of Nigerian roads
Nigeria, Nov. 10 -- The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has been criticised by many Nigerians for his statement on the state of federal roads across the country.
Mr Fashola, while addressing state house correspondents on Wednesday, shared his views on the country's road networks and the plan of his ministry.
But his statement that some of the roads were "not as bad as sometimes" portrayed irked many Nigerians, and they could not hold back their discontent on social media.
A member of the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam (PDP-Osun), in fact, challenged the minister, as well as other concerned stakeholders, to boycott air travel for a 90-day road travel tour. The PDP also called for the minister's resignation.
