Nigeria, Sept. 1 -- A former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, is dead.
Mr Arase, 69, died on Sunday.
President Bola Tinubu mourned Mr Arase in a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.
"President Tinubu commiserates with the family, friends and associates of the highly resourceful officer. Arase's reforms as IGP and later as Chairman of the Police Service Commission brought lasting changes to the force, " Mr Onanuga wrote.
