Nigeria, Aug. 12 -- The Akwa Ibom House of Assembly has denied media reports that it is investigating the administration of former Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Mr Emmanuel became the third democratically elected governor of the state after the return of democracy in 1999, serving two terms from 2015 to 2023.

"The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly wishes to state categorically that there is no scintilla of truth in the publication, in content and intent, and gives clarifications to help properly inform members of the public," the assembly said in a statement on Tuesday by the Deputy Speaker, Kufre-Abasi Edidem.
