Nigeria, Dec. 24 -- Nigeria began their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 2-1 victory over Tanzania on Tuesday evening, shaking off early nerves to secure three vital points in Group C at the Fez Stadium in Morocco.

Under pressure after failing to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Super Eagles knew anything short of a winning start would deepen scrutiny around the team.
