Nigeria, April 9 -- As the world grapples with the escalating impacts of climate change, nations are being called upon to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to slow down the impacts of climate change. 195 Parties (194 countries and the European Union) have signed up to the Paris Agreement, which stipulates emissions reduction measures that countries must implement. These reduction measures are captured in the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) document that each Party must submit to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) every five years.
