Harnessing ubiquitin signalling to boost plant protection
Dynamic regulation of gene expression is vital for all organisms and enables them to respond to the ever-changing environment. In response to pathogen attacks, plant cells display dramatic reprogramming of the transcriptome. The EU-funded UbRegulate project will explore the role of the immunising hormone salicylic acid (SA) in this process. SA employs the small post-translational modifier ubiquitin to establish durable immunity.
