Brazil, April 29 -- ACCIONA and its local partner BRK signed a concession contract to provide basic sanitation services in 153 municipalities and a district in the state of Pernambuco in northeast Brazil. The 35-year agreement includes an investment of BRL 15.4 billion (€2.68 billion) to expand and modernize the region's water supply and urban sanitation infrastructure.The signing took place in the city of Recife and was attended by Jose Manuel Entrecanales, chairman and CEO of ACCIONA; the governor of the state of Pernambuco, Raquel Lyra; as well as other local authorities and members of the consortium.The project will improve access to treated water and to wastewater collection and treatment services for more than eight million resi...
