India, Sept. 9 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has voiced strong support for the imposition of trade tariffs on countries continuing commercial ties with Russia amid the ongoing war, in what appears to be an indirect endorsement of the recent US tariffs imposed on India by the Trump administration.

Without naming any specific nation, Zelenskyy emphasized that statements of solidarity with Ukraine must be followed by "strong actions", including sanctions, tariffs, and trade restrictions on Russia and
