New Delhi, Feb. 19 -- The Indian Youth Congress workers held a protest on Tuesday demanding the resignation of Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw following the stampede incident at New Delhi railway station which claimed the lives of 18 passengers.
The protest took place at the IYC office on Raisina Road.
The protesters were carrying placards and demanding the minister to resign from his post. They also burnt the minister's effigy. The police put barricades outside the IYC office and did not allow the protesters to move out. IYC president Uday Bhanu Chib said that the scene there were heart-wrenching, and alleged that due to the failure of the railway administration, according to official figures, 18 people died of suffocation, including ...
