Bhopal, May 31 -- A workshop at MANIT Bhopal has proposed an age-based safety ranking system to assess how secure tourist sites are for women. Clean toilets, clear signage, and inclusive planning emerged as top priorities.
The five-day workshop, titled Assessment of Women's Safety at Tourist Sites, was hosted by the Department of Architecture and Planning at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology. Coordinators Supriya Vyas, Neha Pranav Kolhe, and Jagdish Singh led the initiative, which focused on designing gender-sensitive infrastructure and inclusive tourism policies. Insights were drawn from extensive field surveys covering a wide age spectrum-from teenage girls to elderly women.
