RAIPUR, March 7 -- The Chhattisgarh Forest Department on Saturday seized precious woods valued at Rs 1 lakh during a raid in the Dhamtari Forest Range.

Officials seized precious teak and Bija woods from the house of Romlal in Chargaon village, said Dhamtari Division Forest Officer Satovisha Samajdar.

On Friday night, Romlal had managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness when the Forest department seized five planks of teak wood from his accomplice Kavilal.
