NOIDA, April 23 -- The Noida police on Monday arrested a woman journalist, who had allegedly come to extort money from Union Minister of State for Tourism, Mahesh Sharma at his hospital in Noida.
It is alleged that the woman claiming to be a journalist was trying to extort money, She had reportedly come to Kailash hospital to collect Rs 45 lakh which she has demanded from the Minister. Police were waiting for her and the moment she entered the hospital premises, she was taken into custody.
According to Vaibhav Krishna Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budha Nagar, a call was received by police from Minister following which a team rushed to the spot.
"The woman, who said she was a journalist, was taken into custody," said the SSP.
